Starting Monday, January 3, the Lake Ridge New Tech Schools will hold a full week of virtual learning as students return from winter break.
Students will then return to the district’s buildings for in-person learning on Monday, January 10.
The district is making the change to effectively assess staffing levels coming out of the break, while also finalizing the protocol for a weekly testing program that will be conducted in its schools–at no cost to families. More information on the program will be available soon.
Once students return to our buildings January 10, they will be required to wear masks indoors at all times. School and district leaders ask that children bring their own masks to school and wear them properly throughout the day. The district’s supply of disposable masks is running low.
The Lake Ridge New Tech Schools is also urging all eligible students and community members to get vaccinated or get their booster dose, if they have not done so already. At this time, children 5 years old and up can get vaccinated for COVID-19.
We sincerely appreciate the support and flexibility of our families and staff as we work to implement the protocols necessary to keep everyone safe and reduce transmission of the virus. With the omicron variant quickly spreading, we all need to continue to do our part to navigate this critical point in the pandemic.
